Painting
This work is an ongoing exploration of memories from my past. Some are from early childhood and other could be from last week. Often times I am not conscious of where my imagery comes from. I paint initially by intuition. As the painting begins to reveal itself the inspiration becomes evident. At this point the work has its own personality and the rest is a discovery process.
Many of the pieces are my observation on the state of our environment and others are a narrative responding to the destruction of war, natural disasters and climate change.
I work in series because that allows me to fully explore a concept within a concentrated time frame. It’s a way of focusing and staying directed.
